SSAB Europe division’s Supply Chain Management & IT function plays strategically important part in developing and implementing efficient and effective supply chains to maximize the value to our customers.
We are now strengthening our team with a Shipping Manager, to work together with Chartering Manager with sea shipments of products from SSAB Europe facilities to our customers. Position includes also contracts with harbor’s as well as sending and receiving harbors. You will play a central role in advising and supporting operational transport planners, sales and purchasing organizations in logistic and shipping related issues. Location of the position can be at one of our production sites, Borlänge, Hämeenlinna or Raahe.

- Develop and implement new transport concepts
- Sea freight contracts for container and conventional shipments
- Harbor operations and warehouse contracts
- Developing processes and work with continuously improvements in our supply chain
- Follow the development and market indicators in Sea shipping
- Drive development towards a more sustainable supply chain
- Supplier relationship management
We are looking for a person with good analytical skills, who enjoy business situations, is responsive and has drive and good social skills. You master English and Swedish or Finnish fluently in speech and writing. You have the ability to work independently with initiative touch and good self-motivation. High productivity and ability to reach the targets and ability to work under pressure will help you in this role. You find ways to reinvent process as natural part of your work.
We expect you to have Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with specialization in logistics or procurement or similar. Experience from logistic management, sales or procurement of sea freight, development and implementation of concepts both conventional and container is preferable. You have holistic perspective and good understanding of business. You are dedicated to your job and have a drive of always improving your work and create value. Excellent negotiation skills and good knowledge in contract writing, project management and good analytical skills will be seen as an asset.
